create tuesday...Hair

Acrylic on board with and under collage of fashion plates from a vintage book.

My entry for the new create theme which is hair...
I have always been fascinated by the amazing hair styles they created in the french court of Marie Antoinette...wigs that were powdered and styled and had items added like birdcages or sailing galleons...feathers and fripperies.....

Just to amuse myself I added a hare to the hair.....I'm can be pretty silly like that....

I kept the colour palette very neutral to give the impression of the clouds of power that must have fallen around those royal silk covered shoulders!!!1

Its holiday weekend here so am taking a break for a bit,

see you all later!!!!
xx

This is great, Kay! She does look like she could be Marie Antoinette! And you covered all the bases with the hare, too. :)

I've always been taken with those outrageous Marie Antoinette wigs and enjoyed your depiction of one. Just imaging the sore necks women must have gotten from the weight of their "hair"!

I'm really liking this! To me it looked like what the the statue of libery at might look like with "her hair down." I really like the tones you incorporated too! Lovely!
