..where did you spring from??

...... i pride myself on my observational powers..i notice things....moths and bugs.....twigs and shoots...the shape of the clouds....the slightest changes in the seasons.....
but i never noticed this before and i have walked this path often!!!




..a huge redwood tree.

...its bark deeply grooved.....flaking and lichen covered.....a beautiful shade of verdigris....


......its upper most branches way above me....... standing straight and solid against the cold blue sky.........

...i once lived in a house flanked by two of these magnificent trees......they must have been so old..and i always wondered if the trees or the house came first....


..how do you tell how old a redwood is???..or do they just appear overnight like mushrooms?

the first time i read about trees arriving was in grade six when i first read about the huorns. tolkien. the trees that walk. check it out. meanwhile. hunker into that sweet tree and listento its stories. steven

Magnificence !
Maybe a small seedling once painstakingly planted, and nutured by lots of rainfall.
Such a beautiful tree.
