deep waters

This is the first Magpie Tale of 2012 from  Tess at willow manor.

it may seem quiet
after the storm
still now
the creaking logs
settle into stone

as the rain clouds clear
rising mist
clearing tree top
we breathe again
our soaked clothes
steam
and
squelch

wet hands slide together
cold becoming warm
we are walking on
with waters running deep.

  1. A beautiful poem - a lovely hiking vignette! Metaphorical, too, I'm sure, but the imagery of the hike is so well composed!
