going home

                                                        sculpture: Jason deCaires Taylor

i am breathing
in the blue
as i sing
the song of songs
my echo ripples for miles
causing whale and porpoise
to turn a quizzical head
in my direction
and respond
with fins and tails
as they
sway and splash with delight
that i have come home.

This is my take on the prompt from tess at magpie tales..this is the 100th..congrats Tess!!

Yay... a happy poem with singing and delightful splashing. It's always a happy time when someone returns home.... big sigh. Thank you for sharing, Kay.

Dolphins are always a delight to see, especially in the wild. I've been intrigued by them since I was a child.

Oh! A surprise ending. The circle complete, breathing in the blue. Love your flowers, by the way.

The road home can taken us on many turns, but it's always so comforting when we actually arrive.
