Judas

i sit  at the waters edge
my toes gritty with the shore
sand under my nails
trying to untangle the whirling mess of my emotions
the perfume of your skin
from my last kiss
invades my senses
my hands bloodied with the rips and tears
of the thorns
as i pick at the corners of my actions
betrayal and loss
line the surface of my guilt.
