Scribe

Still Life 1670. detail, Jean Francoois Le Motte

In  a cedar lined room

of musty air

made dense by candlelight

 you are

 wrapt over parchment

indian blue blotched hands

scratch copperplate script

and soon

blotted sand

cascades on floorboards

the higher demands

snakes into the night

of melted red wax.

This is my poem for todays THE MAG over a Tess's place...wander over and have a look at the other artists work or maybe have a go yourself.xx

  13. Reminiscent of old times, Kay! Whatever happened to good old fashioned letter writing? Blame it on cyberspace, the email,FB,twitter etc! We are in so much of a hurry, that's why! Great verse!

  17. I love our language. Hate what technology is doing to it now. My teen even says LOL now instead of laughing out loud and, she assures me, all of her pals do it too. I fear in another couple of years we won't recognise language as it used to be at all.
This is old time, romantic, lovely. ...Smiles
