summer night 1913 albert bolch
the summer moon hangs low
in star bright skies
they watch
you walk away
your thoughts tumbling
lost in quivering anger
clothed in folds of azure blue
crazed like ice
slowly dripping jealousy
in cold frosty rivulets
of hurt and sweat
their lies twisted
turning silken memories into
rough coarse twine
to be unpicked later
in the darkness of despair.

Lovely capture of the icy jealousy, turning silken memories into coarse twine ~
ReplyDeletenice..you start with a beautiful picture and then mix in the hard emotions....jealousy will def color a moment you know....those last 4 lines are great...

Strong image!
I like "crazed like ice."
ReplyDeleteJealousy will kill any and all love unless it is stopped cold. You give it quite a chilling look here.
ReplyDeleteExcellent imagery, I guess it would leave us feeling pretty blue too.
Great interpretation of the pic. :)
Sad but nicely written....

Wow. Downbeat but beautifully written...
ReplyDeleteThis one works very well with the image from Tess. To wash the image with anger and a soon to rise despair is easy to do.
ReplyDeleteDark and delicious write, Kay...azure is one of my very favorite words...nice to see it here...
ReplyDeleteThe first line is a perfect mood setter for this piece! nicely done.
ReplyDeletePerfect description of anger...I'm shaking!
ReplyDeleteHow can you walk away from the moon and the stars.... and love? It is the darkness of despair, I would say. The twisted lies are like a knife.... ! This is wonderfully expressive Kay. Thank you for sharing. =D
ReplyDeleteLoved the way you changed the mood towards the end.
ReplyDeletewell done...thanks for sharing
ReplyDeleteOh those eyes of green are shaking...! Nicely done!
ReplyDeleteJealousy does hurt leads to loss and despair for both. Nicely written, Kay!

The sense of despair here is strong. The idea that silken memories can be twisted into something ugly to be picked over in the darkest desperate moments is very powerful.
ReplyDeleteA great depth and form that catches and lingers
ReplyDeleteOh, so sad. Well done!
ReplyDeleteExcellent portrayal...
