pine scent
mixed with smoke scent
mingling with your scent
breath
breath
i dare not look into your eyes
do not look into my eyes
I stare into the flame
willing the heat not to rise on my cheeks
willing your hand to escape your pocket
willing your hand to just brush my inner wrist
a sign
any sign
is this a sign?
a moment caught
a moment captured
in my memory
a moment lost
as you turn away.

ReplyDeleteWonderfully captured. Thank you.
Graceful and quite winning...
ReplyDeleteHow any memories this evokes - and probably the lack of interest was all for the best. It certainly was when I look back . . .
